Wine or Water?

Apparently it's true!! Alcohol is better than Water! Here’s the truth behind wine and water.

A glass of wine.

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine and those who don't and are always walking around with a bottle of water in their hand – as if to say “Hey! Look I’M Healthy!!”

Ben Franklin said: “In wine there is wisdom, In beer there is freedom and In water there is bacteria”.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli - (E. Coli) - bacteria Found in feces.

In other words, you’d be consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of Shit..

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service!

Butter or Margarine?

This story is from a friendly fly that used to hang around a Margarine factory operated by one of the world’s most popular brands of Margarine.

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

Margarine then was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. SMART NO?

They then came out with some clever new flavorings....

DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter? Read on to the end...it gets more interesting!

About Butter

Both Butter and Margarine have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine.

A
ccording to a recent Medical Study by Harvard U, eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% compared to eating the same amount of butter;

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods;

Butter has many nutritional benefits whereas margarine has less and that only because they are added;

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance flavors of other foods;

Butter has been around for centuries whereas margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, about Margarine

Very High in Trans fatty acids.

Triples the risk of coronary heart diseases ...

Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..

Lowers quality of breast milk

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact and THE PART THAT’S VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... and shares 27 ingredients with PAINT!

These facts alone were enough even for me a greedy fly to avoid margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance.

DON’T BELIEVE ME?? Open a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

*it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow in.

Why? Because Margarine is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to butter them up')!

Remember the ancient Chinese Proverb:

When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.

So pass the BUTTER, Please.

Here’s an Interesting Observation on Corporate Employees

It seems that in the USA...

The sport of choice for the urban poor is BASKETBALL.

The sport of choice for maintenance level employees is BOWLING.

The sport of choice for front-line workers is FOOTBALL.

The sport of choice for supervisors is BASEBALL.

The sport of choice for middle management is TENNIS and

The sport of choice for corporate executives and ladder climbers is GOLF.

SO WHAT’S THE AMAZING CONCLUSION?

The higher they go up in the corporate ladder - the smaller their balls become..

Bank Robbers Eat Deposits

The following tale is from an article that appeared in “The Dublin Times” about a day after an unusual bank robbery.

Four unemployed guys broke into a bank. Once inside, a little after midnight, they started work on disabling the bank’s security systems.

The robbers expected to find one or two large safes filled with cash & valuables. However, they were surprised to see many smaller safes throughout the banks vault.

Confused but determined to rob anyway, they cracked open the first safe's combination and to their disappointment only found a small glass bowl of vanilla pudding.

According to recordings from the bank's audio - video tapes, one robber said, “BUGGER! But at least we'll have a bite to eat.”

The robbers then opened up a second safe. It too contained nothing but vanilla pudding. The process continued until all the safes were opened.

They did not find a single pound note, diamonds, gold or even documents. All they found in the safes were little glass bowls of pudding.

Disappointed but still not wanting to admit total defeat, the robbers ate up all the pudding. They then made a quiet exit - each leaving with nothing more than a slightly uncomfortably but full stomach.

The day following the robbery a newspaper headline read:

"IRELAND'S LARGEST SPERM BANK ROBBED”

What a load of CRAP!!!

A Fly breaks the Real European E Coli in Veggies Story...

As a fly, I do what I do and recently visited a vegetable farm in Europe that claims to grow everything organically. Would you believe what I learned?

I learned that because of the growing demand for organically farmed stuff - particularly vegetables, many farms in Europe and elsewhere have been importing CRAP (literally) from Africa.

Furthermore, to lower costs and increase profit margins these greedy farmers have been using cheap labor from north and sub-Saharan Africa. These workers are encouraged to provide fresh crap for the farms - for an extra couple of Euros of course.

It is of course well known that the E. Coli bacteria is quite prevalent in Africa. The Africans resident in Europe however have had access to antibiotics which they probably have used indiscriminately - resulting in an evolved version of the E Coli bacteria.

Apparently human waste can be used as organic fertilizer both in the soil and over the veggies to be absorbed by the leaves...but needs to be allowed time to fully disintegrate so that bacteria can be digested by other insects and bugs like me that feed on the crap The problem seems to have been greed i.e. premature use of all this crap.

In any case, till the issue is discovered, admitted and resolved, I'm advising my human friends (yes I do have some) to stay with cooked veggies (no raw salads) and that’s not a load of CRAP

What’s the Connection between Mobile Phones, Eggs and your Brains?

Here’s a tale of an Egg, two Mobile phones and 65 minutes of connection between the two phones.

We assembled an egg between two mobile phones (as per first image).
We then Initiated a call between the two mobile phones and allowed the call to run for approximately 65 minutes...
During the first 15 minutes nothing happened;
During the next 25 minutes the egg started getting warm;
After 45 minutes the egg was hot;
65 minutes later the egg was cooked (see second image).

Conclusion: The radiation created between the two mobile phones has the potential to modify the proteins in the egg..

Imagine what it can do with the proteins of your brains when you are on long calls. So try to reduce long calls on mobile phones. Send the URL of this message to all friends you care for

No don’t call them send them an SMS instead!.

Beware while eating at restaurants

Just received this sad story about an uncle of a friend in Malaysia. It happened at 8 pm on a Monday in the town of Kuantan in the east coast of Malaysia... but it could have happened anywhere.

The uncle was having dinner with two of his friends. They ordered the steam fish and the waiter/waitress put some liquid gel (not candles) underneath the fish and lit it up to keep the fish warm.

The contraption suddenly exploded and caused my friends uncle severe burns on his ears, face and arm. Fortunately he was wearing glasses (or else he would have been blinded).

The restaurant manager claimed innocence and was not bothered to even to visit the injured customer in hospital.
The injured man's family is now trying to find ways to help the poor guy claim some compensation as he might not be able to work for at least 6 months.

So friends and all you hot pot fans be extra careful when ordering food that’s heated at the table...

Organic Hot Stuff - The Penis Chilli

You want Organic - well nature has it.

This is the 'Peter Pepper' It’s been called by many other names, including Chilli Willy and Penis Chilli; and has been judged “Most Pornographic Pepper” by Organic Gardening Magazine... In Malaysia it's called the circumsized chilli ...and it's a real plant.

Mother Nature must be playing a prank on mankind (and womankind as well) when such extraordinary vegetables appear.

These are actual peppers from a garden. They are called 'Peter Peppers'. It's probably the world’s most offensive-looking plant

I first thought it was just another Photoshopped hoax, but apparently it’s a real plant, usually called the Peter Pepper, scientific name capsicum annuum var. annuum ‘Peter’.

It’s native to Louisiana and Texas and it’s been called many other names, including Chilli Willy and Penis Chilli; and has been judged “Most Pornographic Pepper” by Organic Gardening Magazine...

Apparently it has always been grown more as an ornamental thing, rather than to be eaten, although it’s perfectly edible.

By the way, a farmer who specializes in growing them says they can grow up to 18" long!

You can take an Organic mouthful but it will surely bring tears to your eyes.

India – A Foreigner’s Perspective

India holds a certain sense of mystery for the world outside its borders... read on to find how curious foreigners are about India and its ways... or rather read on to find out how dumb and ignorant some of them are about India.

This Blog was taken from a tourism Blog where people post queries if they were planning on making a trip to India ....

The answers are apparently actual responses from the website officials - who obviously have a sense of humor.

Q: Does it ever get windy in India ? I have never seen it rain on TV, how do the plants grow? ( UK ).
A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die.

Online Stock Trading – How to Lose Money!

Tell a Friend

Beware of the Slippage Factor!

It seems that last week, Goldman Sachs was credited with the creation of an entirely new definition for the concept of "slippage".

Who leaked the story? Apparently Matt Goldstein at Reuters did.

The accepted definition for “slippage” is the difference between the ordered price and the amount it eventually costs. Considering what I’m about to share with you this couldn’t be more vague?

Apparently Goldman Sachs has invented a new definition for the concept of "slippage". At Goldman Sachs it’s called being 'risk averse’. Most would call it “let's trade in front of everyone else. Get filled first and what's left to fill is what anyone else gets”. Why? Because Goldman Sachs is 'risk-averse'” of course.

Now, let’s not just pick on GS for the fun of it. But last week, GS supposedly was very quietly told that it could no longer do computerized quant trades at the New York Stock Exchange.

What exactly is "quant trading"? Well Quantitative (or quant, for short) trading encompasses investing techniques employed by sophisticated, technically advanced hedge funds and so called prime brokerages.

Quant use ultra-fast computers to predict the most recent trading patterns from large amounts of live financial data. A "quant," now refers to programmers who code quantitative-analysis algorithms for insider computer trading.

So is quant trading illegal? Generally, NO. But the way Goldman Sachs coded the program seems suspicious at the least. It has been reported that GS represents around 60% of program trading.

When you trade from your desktop, your computer program sends your offer to buy or sell to the exchange through your broker. The computer program that is behind the scenes of your desktop-trading platform uses what is known as a "FIX" protocol. FIX is now generally considered the industry standard.

Apparently the GS program can intercept the FIX messages being sent to the exchange from large institutions, interpret what was is being bought or sold, and then put GS’s trade in ahead of those trades for the same securities. The institutional trade coming in afterwards may or may not get filled, depending upon how large GS's trades were. This no doubt will also affect how your order is filled.

Could this really work in a modern marketplace? Let’s say you wanted to sell 10,000 shares of IBM. GS’s quant program would supposedly intercept the message, and sell 10,000 ahead of you. If there were buyers for only 12,000 IBM shares at that price, GS would sell its 10,000 and you could only sell 2,000 leaving you with 8,000 shares still to be sold.

Ccreative Slippage

What is now being investigated is whether GS illegally used security-access codes to acquire the messages prior to "transaction_commit" timepoints at the NYSE. Although we are talking about a nanosecond trading advantage for ultra-high-speed computers, a nanosecond is a lifetime and profits can be made without much risk. It’s that new buzzword Rick Aversion again.

So how was GS found out? Well quant trading recently hit an all-time high of 48.6% of all NYSE trading. And since GS represents 60% of all program trades ...well, you do the math. The NYSE of course keeps close tabs on program trading and was surprised to find out that nearly half of all trades suddenly came from program trading.

Now wasn't it Goldman Sachs that received $12 billion in bailout money to help it overcome disaster? One might even be tempted to conclude that GS makes money the old-fashioned way ... by stealing it.

Let’s keep an eye on this to see how it unfolds and whether we're looking at a scandal or just another day on Wall Street. But since truth tends to turn out far stranger than fiction, it all makes you wonder why anyone would want to buy stocks.

No wonder so many Hedge Funds are now staying with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) trading commodity futures.

Wall Street Could Have Learned Lots From This Kid!

Tell a Friend

If Wall Street hedge fund managers, derivatives traders and mortgage loan officers had just followed this kid’s money philosophy, we could have avoided the financial and economic mess we are now in.

Yes friends, instead of buggering around with bailouts, handouts, TARPS, FARTS and what have you, we could have continued to enjoy high property prices, high stock prices, ever higher oil and commodity prices and ...low interest rates. What a great life it could have been.

But it was not to be. See what message you get out of this little piece sent to me from a fellow fly in the Middle East (yes I have relatives there as well).

A young boy - say we call him Ali - enters a barber shop. The barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.”

The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?”

The boy takes the quarters and leaves the dollar in the barber’s hand.

The barber says to his customers, “What did I tell you?. It happens all the time. This kid never learns!”

Later, when all the customers leave, the barber comes out of his shop and sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. The barber says to him...

“Hey, son! I’ve wanted to ask you for a long time. Why do you always take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?”

The boy licked his ice cream cone and casually replied,

“Because the day I take the dollar, the game's over!. No more audience for you and no more free ice cream for me”

The message is “Wall Street could have fooled all the people all of the time – but for their stupidity and greed.”

Hong Kong New Plastic Bag Tax – Govt. to earn extra $5 Billion

Tell a Friend

With all previous attempts to voluntarily introduce charges on plastic bag use in supermarkets having flopped, HK shoppers will now have to pay a mandatory HK$0.50 for every plastic bag they ask for at around 2,000 supermarkets.

We are told that the new plastic bag tax is aimed at cutting the city's daily mountain of plastic bag waste. I disagree and I’ll explain why. Littering of course is a major problem in Hong Kong. With 7 million people clustered together in a small space, HK has one of the world's largest per capita carbon footprints.

Apparently around 30 million plastic bags are thrown away in Hong Kong every day. That’s more than four per person - accounting for some 6 per cent of the 17,500 tons of rubbish sent to the city's landfill sites every single day. Granted that’s a whole load of plastic bags.

But this new tax is not really going to solve the plastic bag problem...it’ll just add some new money to the Government’s coffers. At the public’s same rate of plastic bag use the HK Government coffers will receive around HK$15,000,000 per day and $5,475,000,000 in additional cash flow every year. Not a bad amount during a global recession.

You see, almost every one I know in HK, uses these supermarket plastic bags to line the rubbish bins in their flat - so that when the cleaners come to pick up the rubbish during the early hours, they have it all nicely contained in a plastic bag. Imagine the mess otherwise. Great for a fly but not if you want to contain disease – Swine Flu etc.

So if people aren’t getting free plastic bags from the supermarket, they’ll have to buy mini rubbish bags anyway. Guess what? It’s made from environment unfriendly plastic as well. Same problem at a higher cost.

The city's environment secretary Edward Yau said he believed people in Hong Kong now understood the need for the charge and were ready for it.

Too right Eddy. The one thing Hong Kongers understand best is money and the new tax is meant to hurt where it counts. But sadly the problem will remain...

Why US Dollar will remain World Reserve Currency!

Even with Obama in the white house, the ever popular Dollar bashing is on again. We keep hearing that countries around the world want to replace the US currency with something else as their reserve currency...but what.

Sitting on a wall in the newsroom of a major television studio, I heard that several countries will be meeting (again) soon to discuss alternatives and that central banks will start selling the dollar in favor of something else...again what it will be is not certain.

We hear comments like “Chinese officials have sought a greater role over time for the International Monetary Fund’s unit of account, known as Special Drawing Rights in an effort to reduce the dollar’s dominance. We also hear stuff like “Chinese official said he was not aware of a plan to discuss a new reserve currency at a Group of Eight meeting next week.”

What a load of crap and bollocks: Probably perpetuated by professional market makers to create volatility in currency markets so it’ll lead to more trading and of course more commissions (or spreads as it’s now politely called).

Here’s my take: if and when non US central banks start selling US Dollars aggressively... watch carefully and wait to start buying USD against other currencies - particularly the currencies of those countries who’s central banks are the most aggressive sellers. Central banks are notoriously famous for getting it wrong. Historically they've always sold at the worst possible time.

No doubt many countries around the world - particularly those who have a few extra coins jingling in their emerging market pockets from selling crap to US consumers, would like to see the power of the US Dollar and thus the US of A significantly reduced.

That’s just wishful thinking. I say that in spite of all the so called fundamental reasons as to why the US Dollar should be weak and therefore sold - it will continue to remain the world’s reserve currency for just one simple reason i.e. every single US Dollar is backed by at least 120% of solid military capability. No other currency in the world or even gold has that going for it.

Now I don’t know about you but I’d like to keep my money in a well protected place. Remember that when pull comes to push, the winner is always the guy with the biggest club... and uncle Sam has the biggest one of them all. Notice how US Dollar denominated Treasury Securities get bought up like mad every time some tin pot madman threatens to destroy the world?

My message to all nations? Just get on with building and improving your economy and work towards making your peoples livelihood better. Let uncle Sam police the world and keep your money safe from the likes of guys like Saddam, Kim Jong Il (he’s ill anyway) etc.

Bernard Madoff now hates all things Chinese?

Well it was Federal District Judge Denny Chin, obviously a man of Chinese heritage, that ordered him to serve 150 years in prison. Madoff, a proud bigot, probably believes that a non foreign Judge may have given him a lighter sentence. That’s the kind of guy Madoff is supposed to be.

Anyway it’s highly unlikely that Madoff will live long enough to serve the 150 years sentence in full... unless of course he’s bought out GOD as well.

In case you’ve been living under a stone, Madoff, was the mastermind behind one of the biggest and longest-running financial frauds in history. His sentence is to serve 150 years in prison, the maximum sentence allowed, for a scheme that has come to define the latest iteration of Wall Street greed.

The sentence far surpasses that of other recent high-profile white-collar crimes and took many noted criminal defense attorneys and former federal prosecutors by surprise. In handing down the sentence, Judge Denny Chin acknowledged that any term above 25 years would be symbolic, given Madoff's advanced age of 71.

However, the judge added, it was important that the severity of the sentence serve as a deterrent to future offenders. "The message must be sent that Mr. Madoff's crimes were extraordinarily evil," Chin said, his voice a stoic monotone.

As usual several legal experts were asked whether the sentence would in fact achieve Chin's objective and as usual they gave their usual garbage opinions. Bookmark and Share

Interesting twist on Swine Flu in Hong Kong

Tell a Friend
According to a story in Bloomberg News, the H1N1 virus has now spread widely in Hong Kong and has in fact emerged as the predominant flu strain in the city.

Thomas Tsang, controller of the Center for Health Protection said that one in eight i.e. 12.5% of those who visited government-designated clinics tested positive for the virus.

Interestingly, and apparently on account of the fact that the virus has spread so widely locally and emerged as the predominant flu strain in the city, the Hong Kong's health authorities have decided that they will no longer require isolation of mild human swine flu patients in hospitals.

Those infected with the flu in Hong Kong (but only if it’s mild) are now officially allowed to happily go around spreading it to others...strange way to contain an outbreak.

Swine Flu Pandemic Declaration. A reason for Financial Defaults?

According to an article by Mark Nestmann of The Sovereign Society, earlier this week, the World Health Organization declared the spread of the H1N1 flu virus, the causative agent of the so-called "Swine Flu" to be a "flu pandemic."
This is the first time in more than 40 years that the WHO has made such a declaration. And it seems rather odd that it would do, given that this "pandemic" has had such minimal impact. The last time that the WHO declared a flu pandemic was in 1968, when the Hong Kong flu strain killed more than a million people.

By contrast, as of June 15, the H1N1 flu strain has killed a mere 163 people. That's a significant number, but by comparison, complications of ordinary flu kill about 36,000 Americans every year. True, the spread of the H1N1 strain technically meets the definition of a pandemic—an epidemic that is geographically widespread. Since its discovery in April in Mexico, the virus has spread to 74 countries on five continents.

But the pandemic declaration also has some very significant collateral side effects that could be extremely useful to banks, insurance companies, and hedge funds locked into losing positions on derivative contracts. Call me paranoid if you want, but many such contracts contain a "force majeure" clause that allow the signatories to cease meeting their obligations in situations beyond anyone's control. Pandemics are typically listed as reasons for calling a force majeure.

Now, it so happens that Friday, June 19 is a very significant date when it comes to derivative contracts. That's because the last hour of trading will be one of only four so-called "Quadruple Witching Hours" each year, in which contracts for stock index futures, stock index options, stock options and single stock futures all expire simultaneously. That's only two days away, but if all hell breaks loose in the markets between now and then—or if any of the counter-parties for these contracts can't deliver—they may well declare force majeure.

Seen in this light, the WHO's declaration of pandemic may be more of an economic diversion than a public health emergency. Indeed, interpreted in this light, a more accurate rendition of "swine flu pandemic" may be one its anagrams; "unwind limp faeces."

Do but Don’t Do – what a wank!

Have you noticed how so called high credibility authorities like parents, employers, presidents, business leaders, priests, judges etc. regularly use “Do but Don’t Do” advice to confuse the shit out of us?

We’re dammed if we follow the advise and dammed if we don’t. Either way we’re screwed.

Here are some of my all time favorites…

Win by any means…but always be honest!
Do what I say, not what you think you should do!
Truthfulness is always the best policy…but business is business!

Individualism, survival of the fittest, is a basic law of nature. Restrictions upon freedom kill initiative and are un-American. But people should work for common purposes, and stand loyally together. Individuals should not live only for the themselves!

Be successful, but the kind of person you are is more important than success!

The family is America’s basic, sacred institution, but national welfare depends on business, so all institutions must conform to business!

Democracy is the basis for freedom and equality, yet nothing would ever get done if left to popular vote. No businessperson or employer would tolerate collective decisions!

Human beings are rational and can be trusted to do the right thing, yet some are brighter than others so you can’t wait for them to make up their minds!

Religion and the pursuit of a better life are our ultimate objectives, but we owe it to ourselves to make as much money as possible!

We believe in progress and new ideas, yet the old fundamentals are best. Rapid change must be avoided!

The great challenge of capitalism is to escape the rules of that way of life!

Capital and labor are partners, but avoid paying higher wages than necessary!

Education is good, but practical people get things done!

In may religions, women are sacred, but considered not very practical, and inferior in their reasoning power and abilities!

Patriotism and public service are the highest ideals…but individuals must look out for themselves!
